Vendryes- They are caring and understanding. They don’t give up and will go to great lengths to help others. They are warm, family-orientated individuals who devote themselves to their mission.
Founded in July of 2022 Vendryes Cares is a small up-and-coming not-for-profit organization based in Brooklyn. It is run by a close-knit family with roots in the foster and shelter systems. Our founder value birthdays and believe every child should feel special on their birthday.
Our Mission
To provide disadvantaged and low-income children in the community, foster care, and shelter system a gift on their birthday.

Meet The Board

I founded this not-for-profit from my love of birthdays. I lost my father Vendryes at the age of 15 years; at which time I entered the foster care system. This company is the namesake of my dad, he always showed compassion and care. The outrageous ways our family sings happy birthday. Showing nothing but love and togetherness. Birthdays are a priority in our family and I wanted to share that joy with all the children in our community. My educational background is in legal studies. I am currently the billing manager of a well-known behavioral health company. Most of my life work has been in service to myself, my family, and any and all people that I come in contact with that I can assist. This not-for-profit will make a difference in many children's lives for all the years to come.
My goal is to get as many people involved to help bring forth our dreams to make every child feel loved and appreciated on their special day. I love a good joke. I heard laughter adds years to your life, and I would love to live a long life, filled with purpose. Yanique is my older sister, and for as long as I can remember, she has always made me feel special on my birthday. Growing up, I was always given 1 gift because my birthday falls 2 days before Christmas. But not my sister she keeps it separate every year. I love her for that. Through our passion for feeling special on our day, we want to spread our birthday love to every child. I have a degree in Medical Assisting and actively work in Brooklyn.
The oldest of six; raised in Brooklyn. I value family, honesty and kindness. I studied psychology at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn and I’ve worked with youth and mental health organizations in New York. To me Vendryes Cares is about showing kids that they matter. They were born and should be celebrated. I feel like we should remind them that they are a gift by giving a gift to show we care. Having at least one person in this life acknowledge you and show up really boosts morale and makes for better adults.
